Day 54

Getting an early start, we once again rode the Trans-Canada north and west along the coast of Lake Superior. Our first rest stop of the day was White River Junction, a sleepy hamlet whose claim to fame is being the original home of WINNIE - the bear from the London Zoo who was the namesake of an even more famous bear.

A rather convoluted story, but they did have a cute Pooh inspired playground.

Back on the road, we skirted the Pukaskwa National Park, before reaching Marathon for lunch. The last leg of our trip for the day took us through Nipigon and on to Thunder Bay where our campground greeted us with a cool swim in the pool.

We also met a permanent resident of the campground named "Chippy" (the chipmunk) who took peanuts from our hands to stuff into his cheeks. Both Sammy and Sarah found this to be hours of entertainment....
