Day 60

Heading west from Moose Jaw, we traversed the prairies until we came upon Cypress Hills, known to the native people as "The hills that do not belong."

A glacial carved group of rolling hills topped by a plateau, we traversed them via a gravel highway that crossed Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park and Fort Walsh National Park. Our journey was slowed at several points by free range cattle and for mom to take some skyline shots, but we eventually made our way through Elkwater and back to the plains and the city of Medicine Hat.

Finding our campsite equipped with a grill covered firepit, we decided to do dinner "cowboy style" over an open flame (while the kids blew bubbles at the picnic table.)
