I started the day with me waking
up very early and driving to the ferry. After a long boat ride,
Dad and I drove to the airport. My group went on a two hour flight
to L.A. On that flight I saw Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier, Mt St. Helen's
and the Columbia River. During this flight I looked out the window
at the scenery and played hangman.
After that flight, we waited 6 hours for the next plane to leave
at 10:00. Here I played a lot of Uno with Amina Ali, worked on my
journal, had dinner, and had a meeting with my group. We talked
about things like what to do on the planes. When we boarded the
flight, I found that Quantas had provided movies, games, and blackout
masks for us. |

This morning, I woke up on a plane and disembarked
into Sydney. My group met our Delegation Coordinator Claire. After
that, we went to the Olympic Park. There, I swam in the Olympic
swimming pool, a fun experience, got a picture on the medal podium,
and was shown where the torch went. Then we went to Pizza Hut, a
buffet, not a restaurant. After Pizza Hut we went to the National
Opal Collection and saw Eric, the opalized pleasaur. Opalization
happens when silicon seeps into the space left by Dinosaur bones
after they decompose. |

Sydney started as a settlement for convicts from Great Britan. |

At 7:00 this morning I woke up, then went on a very
windy cruise. I sat next to Kelsey and Shelbie. On the cruise I had
breakfast. I also saw the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbor
Bridge. I went and got a group photo. Then we went to the mall to
get lunch and shop. We went on a tour of the old-town (the rocks).
We had to dress up as prisoners. My group went on a tour of the opera
house. We saw the giant organ with 10,500 pipes and 6 keyboards! |
