Day 57
We cruised through the skyscrapers of Winnipeg before we once again hit the "flat-lands." We made good time following the Yellowhead trail northwest to the big town of Wasagaming. ( A big highlight of the trail was this huge can of COKE - really a grain storage silo - in Portage La Prairie. Another "excitement" was a crop dusting plane which flew right over us. This should give you a sense for what it's like to travel through the Prairies...) |

We stayed at the Sportsman's Park which thankfully had a pool (the air temp was 95) as well as mini-golf, amusement park, bowling alley and ice cream shop - pretty well equipt for a small town. |
After a dinner of BBQ chicken, we ran for cover as the storm clouds raced across the prairie to bring us an evening thunderstorm before it was time to sleep. |
