Day 47

The pounding rain which woke us in the middle of the night, became a flash flood warning by daybreak, so an early departure seemed prudent. By 10:30 AM we passed smoothly through Canadian Customs and were cruising to Montreal.

Although the skies were threatening, we managed a dry afternoon lunch at a lovely sidewalk boulangerie, shopping at the Bonsecour Marketplace, and Sam's favorite, a trip through the SOS Labyrinthe, a 2 km maze.

Being that it was Canada Day, the waterfront of Old Montreal was all decked out, with RCMP on parade, concerts, street performers, and the like.

Taking a long look at the low grey clouds, we decided to forgo the fireworks over the St. Lawrence, so we headed west to St. Anicet on the border of Ontario to camp for the night.
