Battling crosswinds on I-80, we traveled east to Davenport, Iowa. Just north of town, we found the secluded village of Walnut Grove, a pioneer village of authentic building, some from that site, and others that had been moved from other locations and painstakingly reassembled. |

Getting back on the road, we crossed the mighty Mississippi, and after listening to Mary Poppins about 18 (thousand) times, we arrived at Willow Creek Resort, just outside of Rockford, Illinois (and the obligatory playground.) |
