Another hot day. Driving east, we skirted Lincoln and Nebraska City to visit the small town of Brownville, settled in 1854 (the first town in Nebraska.) We had a lovely visit with the broom maker, bought organic sodas in a mill - turned into a health food store, and played along the banks of the muddy Missouri river where Lewis and Clark once camped. |
Sam and Sarah threw rocks in the river and Sarah got stuck in the ankle deep mud, necessitating a rescue. |

We excursioned briefly into Missouri while we traveled north up to Omaha. Our campground provided us a shady site, a round of miniature golf, and a dip in the pool to cool us off. |
