Job one for the day was a quick walk up to the Riverside Zoo. Sam's favorite was the lion, Sarah enjoyed the chimps, especially a youngster who really put on a show for her. Both kids enjoyed feeding the baby ducks. |
Once on the road it was a short trek to Chimney Rock where we got to try our hand at loading a wagon for the Oregon Trail. |

After making lunch in the parking lot, it was another 20 miles to Courthouse Rock and Jail Rock, a third landmark on the Oregon Trail. Following the North Platte River, we camped in Ogallala where the kids got their first taste of using a see-saw. |
