Day 7-

We awoke this morning to find 2" of fresh new snow with more coming down. Dad, Sam, and Sarah built a snowman, while mom did the laundry.

Then we were back on the road to tour the lower loop. Coming over a rise in the Hayden Valley, we spotted a grizzly bear, working at digging out a gopher hole. Just a few hundred yards beyond was a bull Elk, with his full rack still covered with velvet. (sorry no digital pictures available)

Taking the crossover, we turned south at Norris towards Old Faithful. The geyser basins were crowded with herds of Buffalo - cows and calves.

A lunch break at Old Faithful was rewarded with 2 eruptions, both very impressive.

Heading back over the continental divide, we returned to base camp for the kids to play in the snow.
